Marketing Country Club Lifestyle to Homebuyers

Play Golf Sarasota Media Group, publisher of Play Golf Sarasota magazine and Keller Williams Luxury Homes of Sarasota, have joined forces. Together they will develop a system of marketing country club lifestyles and golf course homes for sellers and buyers in the local real estate marketplace.

Brandy Coffey, Broker with Keller Williams Luxury Homes of Sarasota and Mark Bruce, owner of Play Golf Sarasota Magazine and newly licensed real estate agent will partner on several strategic initiatives to be launched later this summer.

Coffey recently joined forces with Joanne Owens of Keller Williams On The Water to launch the Keller Williams Luxury Homes Division in Sarasota Florida. Coffey’s immediate goal quickly became to expand her team of agents to service the luxury market.

“Finding quality agents with experience in servicing clients who desire luxury lifestyles is always a challenge. Mark, with his background as a PGA Golf Professional and vast knowledge of the local country club market, is no stranger to clients who enjoy the finer things in life; therefore, it was easy for him to make the cut”, says Coffey.

Sarasota Luxury Properties in Golf Communities

Dedicated to serving the high-end, luxury market, the Luxury Homes Division of Keller Williams Realty International provides a perfect system for marketing and selling golf course properties. Combined with the media and personal services platform of Play Golf Sarasota sellers and buyers will benefit from a unique combination of Mark’s golf knowledge and expertise gained from over 15 years as a PGA Professional in the area and Brandy’s broad knowledge of the real estate market.

Play Golf Sarasota profiles golf courses and country clubs in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties via high quality print and web related materials. Starting in October, abbreviated course profiles will appear in a special section within SARASOTA Magazine, a monthly city/lifestyle magazine with distribution to all 50 states and 10 countries.

In addition to its publication, Play Golf Sarasota has developed a client base of more than 500 customers who have enjoyed a golf vacation using the firm’s personal travel & concierge service.

“Golfers know and trust the PGA brand and we run our business on the fundamental principles of the game of golf, honesty and integrity,” says Bruce, “that same philosophy will be implemented when representing clients seeking to have us sell their home or with buyers looking for their perfect lifestyle fit here in a Sarasota golf course community”.

This partnership is a perfect match, and truly in line with the Keller Williams philosophy that creating “Win-Win” situations for clients is the best form of business. It looks like Brandy and Mark both have scored a hole-in-one, with many more on the horizon.

“It is easy for clients to get committed to a Sarasota market home purchase, the tricky part, especially when it comes to clients that desire golf course communities has always been finding the perfect balance of golf course, club social-life, and housing desires”, says Coffey, “Mark makes it look easy. After spending only a few minutes with clients discussing their prior club affiliations and experiences, he can narrow a search down to the appropriate local properties that makes their transition seamless”.

This partnership is a perfect match, and truly in line with the Keller Williams philosophy that creating “Win-Win” situations for clients is the best form of business. It looks like Brandy and Mark both have scored a hole-in-one, with many more on the horizon.

Gator Creek Renovating Golf Course

28 Jul 2011, Posted by Play Golf Sarasota in Golf Courses

Gator Creek Golf Club in Sarasota, FL is undergoing a renovation this summer. Yesterday we got an exclusive sneak peak at the construction with golf course changes with architect Ron Garl. Gator Creek is redoing all the teeing grounds and fairways with Celebration turfgrass and all the Greens will have Mini Verde Ultradwarf (most notably used at TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course). In a unique approach to rounding out the collars of each Green, a new turfgarss, Tiff Grande, is planted as the Fringe around every green. In my 25 years in Florida I have not seen a turfgrass that has this much richness and definition to the collar. It is growing in lush and green, the theory is that it will keep the standard 419 Bermuda, common to most Florida courses, from creeping into the Mini Verde green complex.

Garl redesigned a half dozen of the green complexes for Gator Creek to create the original look and architectural feel originally laid out by Joe Lee, Gator’s original architect. The most dramatic feature being added is a new Rock Wall fronting the 10th green, a great Par Five that now offers players a dramatic risk reward challenge for their second or third approach shot. Gator Creek’s Golf Course Superintendent, Michael O’Bryant, is very pleased with the progress of the project. Ron Garl and Garl’s Project Manager Ricky Nix spent some time Wednesday with O’Bryant evaluating the finishing touches of the newly constructed 6th Green complex. Paying close attention to the way a players sees the complex and the options he may have during play is paramount for Garl’s team.

Garl commented Wednesday that his firms goal is create playable golf courses that allow for players to achieve success each time they play. Reminding us that “The game is supposed to be fun for players, right”? During the golf boom of the past twenty years several architects built extra challenging and tricky golf courses that looked dramatic but frequently over-challenged the average player. The PGA of America recently launched a new program called TEE IT FORWARD which encourages players to move up a tee box and enjoy the game a bit more. The early results are people are having more fun, playing a faster round, and excited about their level of achievement. From what I saw at Gator Creek, Garl and his team of experts are going to provide the Gator Creek membership with years of enjoyment.
