Sarasota Ranked #1 Small City for Arts

23 May 2012, Posted by Play Golf Sarasota in News

Besides great golf, Sarasota is also known for the various museums, arts festivals, and more.  So well known, that American Style Magazine ranked Sarasota the #1 arts destination for cities with populations smaller than 100,000.

Each year, their readers are asked to vote for their favorite arts cities from across the country.   Cities are separated into three different categories; Large Cities, Mid-Sized Cities, and Small Cities.  Local arts mentioned for Sarasota included The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art’s Art after 5 series and the St Armand’s Circles first Wednesday art events.

“We are thrilled that Sarasota has received the designation as the #1 Small City in the Nation for the arts,” says Jim Shirley, executive director of The Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County.

“I’ll spread the good word about our experience”

19 Apr 2012, Posted by Play Golf Sarasota in Testimonials

This group was vacationing in Sarasota, Florida and had Play Golf Sarasota recommend a local hotel and arrange golf tee times for the group.

We had a great time. The weather was perfect, the courses were very nice, the hotel with breakfast worked good for us. If there is a complaint, it went by too fast and my golf game is never what I’d like to be, but that’s the way it is. I’ll spread the good word about our experience, share the booklet and the brochures and try to plan the same thing for next year.

Tony, I just wanted to drop you a note to say thanks again for arranging the tee times this year for Spring Break. All three courses were great venues and I appreciate your patience in getting them set-up for me. All the players enjoyed themselves.

I hope to call on you again next year.
